Heidi has been invited by the American Brain Coalition to engage with the FDA and device makers through the Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program (TAP). The role at the American Brain Coalition (ABC) is to connect organizations like SHF with TAP sponsors who are developing devices relevant to neurological and physical medicine.

The TAP program aims to gather patient and caregiver input on breakthrough medical devices in their early stages of development, facilitating quicker access to innovative and effective treatments.

By facilitating feedback to device makers in the early stage of device development, TAP seeks to help foster overall product success and adoption in a manner that is as responsive as possible to patient needs and perspectives. This input could play a significant role in advancing and adopting breakthrough devices that could benefit our members and constituents.

Serving in an advisory role for the FDA Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program will bring increased awareness to ALSP. The program will provide an ongoing mechanism for Sisters’ Hope Foundation and device manufacturers to connect about potential Breakthrough Devices relevant to neurological diseases.  The TAP pilot program is designed to facilitate more rapid progress and widespread patient access to safe, effective, high-quality medical devices of public health importance.
